Abduction Case Suspects Held
Longer In Secret Location

Begaran - The four suspects, all foreigners, in the alleged
abduction of local lawyer were brought to the Magistrate's Court
yesterday in less than 20 minutes.
Several uniformed police guarded the
four defendants as they talked it to the courtroom. The gallery has to
sit in order accordingly to the tight security in the courtroom.
Fifteen days ago, plainclothes police
in the courthouse had to intervene when three men seated in the
audience, who appeared to be either ends or relatives of the victim,
tried to attack the suspects who were seated in the dock.
The incident took place soon after
Senior Magistrate Hj Abdull, Soefri DSP Hj Abidin left his seat.
The four suspects, Suhaili bin Elias,
Mohd Shahnizam bin Samsudin, Azman bin Pungut and Fenny De David
Martin Danori, will be further remanded for two more weeks as applied
by the prosecution yesterday.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Hj Nabil
Daraina PDH Badaruddin tell the court that investigations were still
incomplete. He also said the prosecution would be referring new
charges after the two weeks.
Currently, all of them are being
charged with confining the lawyer to extort any properties, which is
an offence under section 347 of the Penal Code read with section 34,
wherein imprisonment term may exten to 10 years and whipping of not
less than 3 strokes if convicted.
All of them will be back in remand at
their respective `secret' place of remand. The prosecution had applied
that the location not be revealed for safety reasons.
The four who are unrepresented are
from a neighbouring country and did not have any proper travel
documents.
They will be brought to the
courthouse again on October 2 for further mention.
