Brunei delegation for Asean police

Brunei delegates attending the conference in Manila, Philippines
The Royal Brunei Police Force will be
attending the annual Asean Heads of Police Conference in Manila,
Philippines.
This year's conference, which starts
today, will finish on September 12, 2003.
Yesterday afternoon a delegation of
10 senior police officers and one senior officer from the Narcotics
Control Bureau left Brunei for Manila to attend the conference.
The Brunei delegation is led by Pg
Ahmad bin Pg Haji Damit, the Deputy Commissioner of Police.
A total of 9 meeting agendas will be
discussed at the conference.
It will include terrorism, drug
smuggling, development of the ASEANAPOL System database, cyber crime,
commercial crime and trans-national crime.
Other agendas that will be discussed
include cooperation and understanding in crime prevention and the
exchange programmes for officers and training between all Asean police
force.
The main aim of the conference is to
strengthen relations and co-operation amongst the police forces in
Asean (ASEANAPOL) in the police field and mainly on the issues of
crime prevention in the Asean region.
Last year the conference was held in
Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
