JTB holds ‘Karnival Telekom'

The guest of honour launching the carnival
The Chairman of the Municipal Board,
Awg Hj Saji Hj Mudin, yesterday officiated the "Karnival Telekom
2003", held at the Taman Sultan Hj Omar Ali Saifuddin in the capital.
The event, organised by the Telecoms Department (JTB), aims to further
promote JTB's products and services to the public.
Promotions offered in conjunction
with the carnival include the "Edu@c", a new package introduced by
BruNet which comprises free registration worth $20, free 3 months
rental (students plan only - worth $8), free web hosting (5MB), one
e-mail account (4MB), a computer loan scheme that is valid till 31st
December 2003 and a free gift.
With the package, any subscriber is
entitled to purchase a computer through the computer loan scheme where
participating banks includes, Islamic Development Bank of Brunei (IDBB),
Islamic Bank Brunei (IBB) and Perbadanan Tabung Amanah Islam Brunei (TAIB),
a JTB press release stated.
Any subscriber who wishes to
subscribe may do so at the JTB sales counters in Old Airport Berakas,
Tutong TBC, Belait TBC and Temburong TBC. They can also subscribe
through participating computer vendors or through the online form
available at http://www.telecom.gov.bn.
Meanwhile, JTB has also named the
participating computer vendors. IBB computer loans are available the
following vendors; SK Computer Trading, Ambon Buana Enterprise, Itis
Wescot Technology Sdn Bhd, Unitek Company, Bit Computer SDn Bhd,
Advance Komputer Supplier & Services, AV Electronics Sdn Bhd, Elite
Computer Systems Sdn Bhd and NetCom Computer House.
Computer Loan Purchases from IDBB are
available at NetCom Computer House, Bit Computer Sdn Bhd, Advance
Komputer Supplier & Services, AV Electronics Sdn Bhd and Elite
Computer Systems Sdn Bhd, while TAIB computer loans are available at
NetCom Computer House.
Subscribers who purchase computers at
any computer vendor will be provided with Installation, After Sales
and EduP@c application services. For more information contact the

Another promotion is the U-Fon
promotion, where for every $20 UFON Cards purchased, buyers will get a
free $2 UFON Card. Any purchase of NetKad Plus Hallo, Economy Hallo
Kad and Payless prepaid card worth $10 and above, entitles buyers to a
free gift. For those who purchase any of JTB's prepaid cards worth $20
and above, they are entitled for a lucky draw.
Other than the various promotional
activities, fun-filled activities for the young and old were also
arranged during the carnival. Activities included a children's
colouring contest, telecom quiz, fun fair games, local cats contest
and a karaoke singing contest.
Various bazaar stalls and children
bouncers were also set up at the carnival. Visitors also had the
opportunity to meet local Hip Hop groups MNC, BLZ, SQUADDD, SNEAQUE,
PNB and other local artists in person.
The "Karnival Telekom 2003" will also
be held throughout the four districts in the country. It will be held
in Tutong on 21st September 2003 at the Tutong Civic Centre, in Belait
District on 5th October at the Silver Jubillee Park and in Temburong
on the 19th October 2003 at Bangar Town.
