Could
Help

Bandar Seri

yet it is also a world with so much potential to help so many.
Her Majesty was speaking at the

morning.
The mission of the
Girl Guides Association was therefore to enable girls and young women to develop
their fullest potential as responsible world citizens. That truly
takes on a
significant meaning, Her Majesty remarked.
Upon arrival at a hotel in Berakas,
Her Majesty who is the Royal Patron of the Girls Guides Association of
Brunei, was welcomed by the Chief Commissioner of the association,

Peace Camp is an expression of support to the noble
work of the World Association of Girls' Guides and Girls Scout (WAGGGS)
through the Asia-Pacific strategic plan in promoting peace and
goodwill. It also empowed millions of girls and young women
across the world.
Her Majesty Pengiran Anak Hajah
Saleha believes that the current theme of rights and
responsibilities that has been adopted by the World Association of

Her Majesty also
underlined the 1990 United Nations Convention on the Right of the
Child (CRC). The convention among others, recognises that children
should be afforded the necessary protection and assistance so that
they can in due time fully assume their responsibilities within the
community.
The week-long International Peace
Camp 2003 organised by the Girls' Guides Association of Brunei is to
mark the 75th Anniversary of the World Association of Girls' Guides
and Girls Scouts with the theme "Our Rights, Our Responsibilities".
More than 60 girls guides and scouts
from Brunei, Malaysia, Australia, Cambodia and the United Kingdom are
taking part in the camp. The gathering enables participants to work
together as friends and as a team by exchanging ideas, sharing
experiences and learning new skills.
Her Majesty's presence at this
gathering signifies her strong commitment and continuous
support to the association and shows Her Majesty's deep interest in
ensuring the peace camp in Brunei a great success.
With such endearing commitment and
support, Her Majesty has been an inspiration to the association,
especially in its endeavor to plan and implement more programmes that
could contribute to the development of women and girls in particular
not only in Brunei but also in other regions. -- Courtesy of Radio Television Brunei
