Bandar Seri Begawan - Maju Motors Sdn Bhd will hold a Hari Raya open house celebration for members of the public tomorrow (Friday) from 10am until 5pm at their showroom in Telanai.

This is also to coincide with the launching of the new SUV from Volkswagen, the Tiguan.

Tiguan, a combination of the words 'Tiger' and `Leguan', is German for, Iguana, is set to blow away SUV fans with the features compressed into the smaller version of another Volkswagen SU V, the Touareg.

With a 2.0-litre engine, the Tiguan is fitted with 6-speed automatic gearbox with Volkswagens' 4MOTION technology implemented in every version, providing superb 4-wheel drive power to the SUV.

The Tiguan has also achieved a formidable five-

star safety rating in passenger protection with a protective network of six airbags, the Electronic Stabilisation Programme (ESP), child seat anchorages on the rear bench and electromechanical parking brake with Auto Hold function.

The Tiguan is also equipped with a number of state-of-the-art technologies, among them the world's first Park Assist system to be implemented in an SUV.

This optional feature enables automated steering functionality while reversing into a parking space parallel to the road. The driver simply controls the accelerator pedal, brake and clutch while the Tiguan steers into a pre-measured space under sensor control.

The Tiguan will be the first SUV in the world to arrive on the market exclusively with charged diesel and petrol engines, which give the Tiguan greater power and torque, better fuel economy and lower emissions.

Leather seats and panorama sunroof add to the luxury of driving a high-specification Tiguan. While low-specification versions come with normal sunroof and high-quality fabric seats.

The Tiguan comes at a price of $69,000 on the road but Maju Motors Sdn Bhd will be Tiguan at a promotion price of $68,000 with touch-screen audio system and those with non-touch screen systems for $66,800.
