Lady Mayoress Visits Museum, JIS
By Syafiq Affendy & Rohani Hj Abd Hamid

Bandar Seri Begawan - Lord Mayoress of London Theresa Lewis paid a visit to Jerudong International School (JIS) yesterday as part of the activities lined up during her stay in the country.

During a tour of the school, she was briefed by JIS Principal John Price.

The highlight of the visit was Mrs. Lewis' generous donation of $1,000 to the Cambodian Mine Action initiative by Year 7 and 8 students.

Over 20 students, including teachers, organized several activities in the previous year to raise fund for the initiative, which has reached $10,000.

The group also visited Cambodia last June, and helped landmine victims via donations and funding of equipment to clear landmines off the soils of the country.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Lewis also visited Brunei Museum yesterday.

Accompanying her was the wife of British High Commissioner in Brunei Darussalam Mr. John Saville.

During the visit, Mrs. Lewis was briefed by Acting Director of Brunei Museum Awang Bantong bin Antaran and his deputy Pengiran Dr Karim bin Pengiran Haji Othman.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
