Lord Mayor Of London Arrives In
The Sultanate

Begawan - The Lord Mayor of London, Alderman David Lewis and
Lord Mayoress, Theresa Lewis arrived in the sultanate yesterday
evening prior to starting a string of working visits in the country.

Welcoming the
Lord Mayor of London and his wife at the Brunei
International Airport was the British High Commissioner to
Brunei, John Saville.
During his two-day visit,
the Lord Mayor will meet with the British High Commissioner,
Minister of Finance II, as well as organizations such as the
Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB), Britain Brunei
Business Forum and the Brunei Investment Agency (BIA).
Audiences have also been
scheduled with His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of
Brunei Darussalam and His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed
Bolkiah, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

The Lord Mayor will also
be delivering a keynote address at a forum hosted by
University Brunei Darussalam (UBD) themed "Seizing
Opportunities in Challenging Times", which will focus on
Southeast Asia's economic outlook amidst the credit
crisis that started in the US and the closer convergence
of international financial markets. The forum will also
focus on the challenges faced by financial markets.

Meanwhile, the Lord Mayoress is
scheduled an audience with Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pg Anak Saleha
and will be visiting sites such as the Brunei Museum, centre for
children with special needs and the Jerudong International School.
