Bandar Seri Begawan – Khairil Anwar bin Jumat from Jerudong Primary School is attending a prize presentation ceremony in Bangkok, Thailand for winning in an art competition.

He won in the Category A (primary school) held in conjunction with the National Asian Day for Disaster Management 2008 and International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction.

His drawing, `Masyarakat Selamat - Hospital, Sekolah dan Rumah Impian Saya' or ‘A Safe Community - Hospital, Schools and My Dream Home’, came fifth in the regional competition.

Eighteen artworks in the regional competition were submitted by participants from Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.

Accompanying him are Abdul Walid Hj Matassan, Acting Assistant Director, National Disaster

Management Centre and Awang Hanaftah bin Awang Hj Minudin, an officer from School Health Promotions Unit, Departments of schools, Ministry of Education.
