Prayers, Tahlil On HM's 40th Year Of Accession

Bandar Serf Begawan - The Ministry of Health yesterday conducted a mass Zuhur and thanksgiving doa prayers in conjunction with the 40th year of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei's accession to the throne.

Attending the ceremony as guest of honour was Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Suyoi bin Haji Othman, Minister of Health.

The ceremony took place at the Ministry of Health surau and began with a mass Zuhur prayer, followed by thanksgiving prayers.

The congregation then performed their weekly mass tahlil recitals. The thanksgiving prayers and tahlil were led by Ustaz Haji Idris bin Abdul Rashid, a religious officer at Ripas hospital.

Meanwhile, the Royal Brunei Police Force also held a thanksgiving ceremony in conjunction with His Majesty's 40th year of accession on the throne.

Held at the surau at the Police Headquarters in Gadong, the ceremony was attended by the Commissioner of Royal Brunei Police Force, Pehin Datu Kerma Setia Dato Paduka Seri, Zainuddin Jalani.

The short and simple ceremony at the packed surau consisted of mass recital of the Surah Yasin and the special thanksgiving doa as prepared in advance by the State Mufti, Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Hj Awang Abdul Aziz Juned.-- Courtesy of The Brunei Times
