Newborn Dumped In Shoebox

Kuala Belatit - A newborn baby dumped in a shoe-box placed inside a plastic bag was found by a housemaid in the backyard of a house in Kampong Mumong in the Belait District on Tuesday.

The housemaid who was sweeping the backyard heard an infant crying and found a baby boy in a shoebox, wrapped in a towel inside a plastic bag with a bottle of milk

The maid then alerted her employer who reported the matter to the police.

Police found the baby to be in a healthy condition investigations are being carried out by the Women's and Children Abuse Unit in its Gadong headquarters.

The police have asked cooperation from members of the public to come forward with any information in relation to the case. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
