DPMM FC 4-Team Tourney

Begawan - Action thirst local football enthusiasts will be in
for a feast early this weekend as DPMM FC will be hosting the DPMM FC
4-team Football Championship 2006 from Nov 3-7 involving QAF FC, ABDB,
Sabah FA and DPMM FC as host.
According to DPMM FC team manager Pg
Waslimin, the objective of having such a tournament is to enhance the
local footballing quality where it also features the likes of QAF FC,
who are the B-League Premier I champions, B-League FA Cup most
consistent performers ABDB and also invited team, Sabah FA.
The tournament will be played on a
round-robin format, twice a day with all games scheduled to take place
at the Jerudong Mini Stadium and entrance is free.
With the Malaysian Super League
starting in the middle of December, DPMM FC has yet to confirm a third
import signing before the transfer window deadline on Nov 11. The
other two imports are Croatian Rene Komar and Brazilian Rodrigo
Antonio Lombardo Tosi.
Several players have come in and out
of the country recently for the trial sessions according to Pg
Waslimin but have yet to convince team coach Buketa Ranko with a more
desired quality performance to the coach's liking.
Among those on trial at the moment
are Kennedy Simwanza of Zambia and Henry Baysah from Liberia.
Brunei DPMM FC also recently signed a
Malaysian player to enhance their midfield department, said to be very
versatile and effective in his game play by a few spectators who have
seen him in action.
The player is Mohd Arsyah Mohd Ayop,
who previously played for Perlis, helping the club to reach the final
of the Malaysia Cup 2006 eventually emerging as champions but
unfortunately had to miss out the game due to a knee injury.
Meanwhile, DPMM FC team manager Pg
Waslimin after a training session at the Jerudong Mini Stadium
yesterday announced his 25-man squad (except third import) for their
campaign in the upcoming Malaysian Super League.
The players are Affendy Hj Akup,
Alizanda Sitom, Fadlin Galawat, Hj Muhd Subhi Abdillah Hj Bakir,
Mohamad Helmi Panjang, Mohamad Saiful Rizal Awang, Yusof Salleh, Mohd
Wardun Yussof, Pg Hamzah Pg Hj Abd Rahman, Radiman A Rahman, Helme
Panjang, Rene Komar, Rodrigo Antonio Lombardo Tosi, Rosmin Hj Md Kamis,
Rosmini Hj Abd Kahar, Sairol Hj Sahri, Shahrul Rizal Hj Abd Rahman,
Shahrazen Hj Md Said, Ak Sallehuddin Pg Hj Damit, Hardi Bujang, Ampuan
Mohd Nurul Azami Ampuan Hussin, Mohd Arsyah Mohd Ayop, Mohd Roy
Suhardi Hanifah recently signed from ABDB and Zulkifli Duraman from
Wijaya FC.
According to Pg Waslimin, selected
players should not be too excited despite their selection in making
the squad as any player could still be dropped before the start of the
