SEA Youth Ship 2006 Participants Leave Brunei

Bandar Seri Begawan - A contingent of 27 Brunei youths left for Singapore yesterday to participate in the South East Asia Youth Ship Programme (SSEAYP) 2006. The contingent was bade farewell in a ceremony that was highlighted with the handing over of the national flag, at the Brunei International Airport in Berakas.

The flag was handed over by the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Pehin Major General (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Awg Hj Mohammad, to Dyg Hjh Rosmawatiniah bte Penghulu Hj Ibrahim, the head of the delegation that comprised 13 men and 14 women.

Throughout the period ending December 12, 2006, the programme will take the participants from Singapore through four other countries, - namely Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam and Philippines - en route to Japan.

The Ship will dock in Brunei from November 19 to 22, with a reunion dinner aboard the ship for ex-participants scheduled to be held on November 21. The Alumni Association, SSEAYP International Brunei Darussalam@Bersatu, is currently looking for families who are interested in becoming foster parents for participants during the Brunei leg ofthe programme.
