Star Presenter For UBD's Malay
Drama Seminar

Begawan - Indonesian theatre activist, novelist and writer Putu
Wijaya, will be the star presenter at an international seminar on
regional Malay drama which will be held at Universiti Brunei
Darussalam (UBD) this weekend.
Organised
by the Malay Literature Department, Faculty of Arts and Social
Science, UBD, Putu Wijaya will be joined by two other foreign experts
from Malaysia.
Local paper presenters include Dr Hj
Morsidi Hj Mohamad, Mohd Zefri Ariff Mohd Zain Ariff and Hjh Masti Hj
Ahmad.
A total of 17 working papers will be
delivered including 14 by local presenters and four by foreign
experts. The seminar, themed Drama as a Vehicle, of Human Development
and National Development will be held at the university's
Multi-Purpose Hall of Students Welfare from November 7 to 8.
Its objectives include providing an
avenue for lecturers, students and drama activists to interact and
exchange views with experts and evaluate the status and progress of
drama course at the university's Malay Literature Department.
It is also to promote activities and
movement of drama in all aspects including script writing, performance
and critics in the sultanate.
Students will be charged $15 each to
participate, while others including members of public will be charged
$30.
