Bandar Seri Begawan - The Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Brunei Darussalam held an open house October 28. Mr Herijanto Soeprapto and Madam Rimah Herijanto held the event at the Residence or Wisma Duta Indonesia to mark the Hari Raya celebration.

The open house was attended by both the Indonesian community and Bruneian residents. The open house, which is a Muslim tradition to convey greetings and express forgiveness, was held to enhance relationship among the embassy's staff and community as well as members of the diplomatic corps.

Over 500 guests attended the open house where they were treated to a host of delicious traditional Indonesian delicacies including Siomay, Rendang, Bakso, Satay, etc.

For Mr Herijanto Soeprapto and Madam Rimah Herijanto, this was their first time celebrating Hari Raya in Brunei after being assigned to the Sultanate.

The ambassador said the celebration in Brunei is very similar to the celebrations back home and he was happy to join in the festivities here in Brunei Darussalam.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
