Indonesian Embassy Holds Open
House

Begawan - The Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Brunei
Darussalam held an open house October 28. Mr Herijanto Soeprapto and
Madam Rimah Herijanto held the event at the Residence or Wisma Duta
Indonesia to mark the Hari Raya celebration.
The open house was attended by both
the Indonesian community and Bruneian residents. The open house, which
is a Muslim tradition to convey greetings and express forgiveness, was
held to enhance relationship among the embassy's staff and community
as well as members of the diplomatic corps.
Over 500 guests attended the open
house where they were treated to a host of delicious traditional
Indonesian delicacies including Siomay, Rendang, Bakso, Satay, etc.
For Mr Herijanto Soeprapto and Madam
Rimah Herijanto, this was their first time celebrating Hari Raya in
Brunei after being assigned to the Sultanate.
The ambassador said the celebration
in Brunei is very similar to the celebrations back home and he was
happy to join in the festivities here in Brunei Darussalam. -- Courtesy of Borneo
