PPKB Tells Members To Live- Moderately

Bandar Seri Begawan - Members of Parti Perpaduan Kebangsaan Brunei (PPKB) mingled with guests to promote the spirit of goodwill and forgiveness during a Hari Raya gathering Saturday night at Jessamine Restaurant in Kg Serusop.

Dr Hj Mohd Hatta Hj Zainal Abidin, the president of PPKB said after a month of fasting and abstinence from indulgence and other worldly urges as well as carrying out religious activities, it was time to celebrate as winners.

He said fasting not only controlled worldly desires but also fortifies personality, patience and calmness.

He called on his party leaders to live a moderate life yearlong and not just during Ramadhan. `"We are considered idols by our members and as such we musf show quality and high standard in party management as well as in personality. "We must understand that being party leaders we are in the public eye at all times," he said.

The Hari Raya gathering was also attended by representatives of National Development Party (NDP), People Awareness Party and business leaders.

The permanent chairman of PPKB Dr Hj Abdul Latif Chuchu meanwhile urged party leaders not to go beyond party's constitution. "We must show that we are trustworthy to our members and not sway from our real struggle," he said.

Members also won air tickets to Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Manila and Surabaya in lucky draws. They also went up on stage to convey their greetings. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
