Belait District Officer Holds 'Open House'

Bandar Seri Begawan - Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations were still going strong on its sixth day with many "open houses".

Members of the public got a chance to visit Belait District Officer Hj Mohamad Hj Abd Rahman and his family at their residence yesterday in Jalan Maulana.

Among the guests, who received a warm welcome and were served a real feast, were the Penghulus, village heads, members of associations and non-government organisations, as well as staff of the Belait District Office and other departments.

It also gave members of the public a chance to mingle regardless of race or religion.

Also present were President of the Chinese Business Association KB, Pehin Bendahari China Dato Paduka Onn Siew Siong.

Yesterday was the last day of school holidays for children in conjunction with the current festivities. They are expected to return to their normal routines and soon sit for their end-of-year examinations. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
