Inauguration Ceremony For 132nd
RBAF Intake

Begawan - The Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration also marks a new
beginning for some 138 fresh recruits from the 132nd intake of Royal
Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF).
Col. (U) Jofri Hj Abdullah, Director
of Directorate of Operation at the Ministry of Defence, was the guest
of honour at the inauguration for Holding Platoon.
He said that a career in the military
is honourable and challenging, requiring a commitment to improve and
excel in every aspect.
Touching on RBAF's 45`h Birthday this
year, the guest of honour highlighted that it has seen many
developments, including in weaponry and management of personnel
through IT.
He also highlighted peace missions
abroad, such as in Mindanao and Aceh, as well as the delivery of
humanitarian aid for tsunami victims last year. "
This, he added, proves that RBAF
increasingly has capabilities to provide its services for upholding or
preserving the peace and prosperity of the nation as well as in the
region.
The 132nd intake will start their
six-month basic military training from October 29 at the Penanjong
Garrison Training Institute in Tutong.
During yesterday's ceremony, the
recruits and their parents were also given a briefing by Capt Kambrin
Hj Damit, Commanding Officer of the Recruit Company, which was later
