Two Maktab Duli Students Taking
Part In Asean Event

Begawan - Brunei Darussalam will be participating in the Asean
Campus Journalist and Leaders Meet organised by the COCI of Asean.
Thailand is hosting this year's
event, where each of the 10 Asean member countries will be sending two
representatives. Two 17-year-olds from Maktab Duli Pengiran
MudaAl-Muhtadee B illah - Dk Nur Qayyimah Santikan Pg Md Apri and Dyg
NuurAqilah Hj Zainal Arrifin - are representing the Sultanate at the
18-day event in Bangkok.
It will be a very busy time for the
two as they will be undergoing workshops, taking part in cultural
exchange programmes and visiting various places in Thailand, Laos and
Myanmar. The two students will receive a daily allowance of US$70.
Brunei will be hosting the next Asean
Campus Journalist and Leaders Meet.
The Philippines hosted the first such
event in 2005. Apart from fostering understanding and journalism, it
is also dedicated to promote Asean and the cultures of its members.
