His Majesty and the other members of the Royal Family were greeted on arrival by the Minister of Religious Affairs, Pehin Dato Seri Utama Dr. Ustaz Awg Hj Mohd Zain. The recitation of Surah A1-Fatihah' signalled the start of the congregation followed by the reading of' Tahlil and Doa by the State Mufti.

His Majesty later sprinkled ‘Ayeng Asah-Asahan’ or scented water on the tombs of His Majesty's late parents, Al Marhum Sultan Hj Omar Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien who passed away on September 7, 1986 and Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pg Anak Damit who passed away on September 13, 1979.

Later, the other members of the royal family sprinkled the scented water on the tombs.
