Croc Sighting And Lush Scenery
Captivate Visitors To Temburong
By Glen Joseph
Temburong
- Taking advantage of the Hari Raya festive season, a group of
more than 60 foreign nationals working in the Sultanate speeded off to
Temburong on the first day of Hari Raya Aidilftri on Tuesday to have a
jolly good holiday.
Accommodated in two private boats
which started at 8am from Bandar, it was a day of fun as they criss-crossed
the snaky river, singing songs and shouting especially when the driver
suddenly slowed down the engine and shouted, "watch out, see the big
crocodile taking a sun bath".
Many crocs were spotted and they
wondered how people could live very close to these repitiles. On
arrival at Bangar boat jetty, the picnickers were very much amazed to
see the little, lovely, clean and green township where they had a
photo session. For many in the group, it was their first time in
Temburong.
The first stop on the narrow road was
the Taman Batang Duri zoo, but sadly all the little kids were very
disappointed, as the zoo was closed.
They moved on to the Outward Bound
Brunei Darussalam (OBBD) crossing the hanging bridge, where many of
the ladies were a bit scared of walking on a bouncy bridge.
The holiday-makers returned at around
5pm the same day. "Lovely la! This place looks like a paradise, with
its deep green virgin forest and so many different kinds of lovely
small flying creatures. It's really a place to relax after a tiring
work schedule," said Daniel Moses from Assaf Telecommunication which
organised the trip. -- Courtesy of Borneo
