Baiduri's Colourful Festival Of
Lights Celebration

Begawan - Baiduri Bank Group yesterday hosted a sumptuous
dinner for its Indians customers and business associates to
commemorate Deepavali, the Festival of Light.
Over 200 guests turned up at the
Empire Hotel & Country Club to celebrate the festival at the Indera
Kayangan Ballroom.
Present as guest of honour was Acting
High Commissioner of Indian Mahi Pal Singh.
Prominent business leaders,
merchants, corporate and prestige clients of Baiduri Bank made up part
of the guest list.
To mark the auspicious occasion, Mahi
Pal Singh, Baiduri Bank General Manager Pierre Imhof, Deputy General
Manager Raymond Bariou and BSB Indian Association President Dr P S
Sugathan lit the candles in the traditional lighting of the Diyas
ceremony.
"It gives us great pleasure to host
this Deepavali dinner for our Indian customers and friends. I have
been told that Deepavali symbolises the conquest of light over
darkness and the oneness of all mankind," said Pierre Imhof
"The Deepavali message encourages us
to learn about and participate in each other's culture. In our quest
to be the preferred financial partner, we value this opportunity to
come together and celebrate with our Indian friends," he added.
The dinner also saw Baiduri Bank
Group donating $1,000 to the BSB Indian Association, in support of its
activities. The mock cheque was presented by Pierre Imhof to Dr P S
Sugathan.
The donation demonstrates the bank's
steadfast commitment in fulfilling its corporate social responsibility
by contributing towards the work of different ethnic communities,
charities and cultural societies here in Brunei Darussalam.
The guests were later treated to
colourful Indian dances by the BSB Indian Association. In addition, a
live rendition of songs were performed by Dr Davis and his daughter
Sruthi Davis.
The evening was livened up with
songs, dances and games hosted by Sundararajan Padmanabhan, Devi
Priyamuata Murugesan, Sai Prashanth Subash and Visawanathan
Chinnaswamy, all four of whom are TV personalities and entertainers
