Monument Of Love Still Stands Proud

Bandar Seri Begawan - On the top of Bukit Bandera in Tutong Town, close to where the Community Hall is located, sits a monument and testament of the residents' love for His Majesty.

The monument, which commemorated His Majesty's 60`h Birthday in July this year, was officiated by His Majesty during a visit to Tutong Town for a 'ramah mesra' (get-together) ceremony.

Funding for its construction came from private sectors and individuals in the district.

The monument was named Taman Seri Warisan Emas. It is a unique design symbolising the country's peace and prosperity.

Traditional musical instruments called 'guling tangan' and local handicrafts donate Brunei's overall Malay heritage, while flowers highlight the area's scenic beauty. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
