MIPR Holds Raya Gathering

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources (MIPR) and the departments under it held a Hari Raya gathering on Thursday night, RTB reported yesterday. The event was held at a hotel in Berakas.

Present at the event was the Minister of Industry and Primary Resources, Pehin Dato-Seri Setia Dr Hj Awg Ahmad bin Jumat. In his speech, the Minister called on his Ministry to diversify sources despite having income from the main industry, Oil and Gas. Pehin Dr Hj Ahmad also urged the officers and staff at the Minstry and the departments under it to upgrade their work performance.

The function included a religious talk held in conjunction with the Hari Raya festivity - delivered by Ustaz Hj Sharoni bin Hj Abdul Kahar, an invited speaker from the Islamic Dakwah Centre.

The function coincided with the presentation of certificates to the Ministry's retirees by the Minister. Among those present were the Deputy Minister of Industry and Primary Resources, Dato Paduka Hj Hamdillah bin Hj Abd Wahab, and the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
