Islamic Dakwah Centre Organizes Raya Visits For New Converts

Bandar Seri Begawan - In celebrating the festive season Hari RayaAidilfitri, the Islamic Dakwah Centre like last year organised Hari Raya visits to several official residences of cabinet ministers and permanent secretaries for Muslim converts throughout the nation yesterday morning.

More than 500 converts from all four districts turned up for this joyous occasion and were divided into groups.

Prior to the visits, the groups were taken to Istana Nurul Iman for the "Junjung Ziarah" greeting with His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Her Majesty Raja Isteri PengiranAnak Hajah Saleha, HRH Pg Isteri Azrinaz Mazhar and other members of the royal family.

Among the visits to various cabinet ministers' residences, the Bulletin joined the more than 150 converts led by the Director of Islamic Dakwah Centre, Hjh Zasiah Sirin to, the residence of the Minister of Religious Affairs.

Upon arrival, the group was welcomed by the minister, Pehin Dato Dr Ustaz Hj Awg Md Zain Hj Serudin and his wife, Datin Seri Hjh Yukmas Hj Mohamad.

The Islamic Dakwah Centre organised the event aimed at strengthening ties between the new converts and the centre as well as to give them the opportunity of getting up close with cabinet ministers and senior government officers from various ministries.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
