ASEAN And China To Hold First Women Forum

Beijing - The first of its kind women forum will be held on the sideline of the China-Asean summit, scheduled for this Oct 31 in south China's Nanning City, the All-China Women's Federation said Thursday.

According to XINHUAnews agency, the forum between China and Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) will be held for two days in the capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous region.

Quoting the Federation's President Gu Xiulian said the forum will be attended by a princess from Brunei, ministers in charge of women affairs, heads of women organisation and women entrepreneurs from China and Asean countries.

The forum will pass a declaration to outline the cooperation between women of China and the ASEAN nations on various fields, such as the economic construction and social and cultural development. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
