Duit Raya Cheer Up Kids

Bandar Seri Begawan - One of the things which cheer up children most during the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration is the "duit raya". It is a tradition for the elders to give "duit raya" to their younger ones during the celebration.

During Raya visits or open houses, adults could be seen distributing duit raya amounting from $1 to $100 in a green envelope to children who visit their houses.

Besides the sumptuous food and drinks served, children love to collect the green packets during Raya visits.

A resident of Kg Manggis Satu, Pengiran Hjh Hadijah, and her daughter-in-law, Busera Abdullah, were busy on Hari Raya eve preparing the "duit raya" to be given away to children throughout the festive season.
