Indonesian Embassy Holds Raya Prayers

Bandar Seri Begawan - Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Brunei conducted the annual mass prayer to mark Hari Raya Aidilfitri on l Syawal 1427 at the embassy in Simpang 528, Kg Sungai Hanching Baru, Jalan Muara.

The mass prayer was attended by Mr Herijanto Soeprapto, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Brunei.

It began at lam and was led by Ustaz Hj Khairul Manan bin Hawafi. The function continued with a religious talk or Khutbah delivered by -Ustaz Hj Abdul Rosyad Syuhudi, a senior lecturer at the Language Centre of Universiti Brunei Darussalam.

The Indonesian Ambassador, Mr Herijanto Soeprapto, said the mass prayer was attended by more than 1,000 members of the Indonesian community in the Sultanate. It is the biggest number of 'jemaah' who had participated in the Aidilfitri mass prayer held by the embassy since 2004.

In his talk, Ustaz Abdul Rosyad Syuhudi said that fasting during the month of Ramadhan has taught Muslims to be more disciplined and tolerant as-well as closer to Allah Al-mighty. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
