More Rubbish During Raya

Bandar Seri Begawan - As Hari Raya Aidilfitri is a period when locals are kept very busy, the volume of waste to be disposed would also increase or double the usual amount on normal days.

The Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation has made a number of arrangements, including a support service, to maintain and preserve the country's cleanliness as well as catering to the needs of the public.

The department has urged private companies responsible for collecting rubbish from homes to be extra helpful especially during the festive season. However, residents yesterday spotted and were annoyed with the eyesore created by scattered trash at the rubbish disposal centre in the Kg Bengkurong area.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
