Thailand, Taiwan Lions Clubs To Visit Palace

Bandar Seri Begawan - Some 41 members from the Lions Clubs of Bangkok Chomthong, Talinngchan (Dee-Thai) and Taiwan's Taipei Chung Pei arrived in Brunei yesterday afternoon to visit Istana Nurul Iman for Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

The groups were led by Ms Sumontha Boonmanda, Ms Kuo Hsiu Min and Ms Tsai Mei Ling respectively.

On hand to receive the visitors were Mr Lee Chung Kee, President of the Lions Club in BSB, Mr Edmund Chee, President ofthe Lions Club in Belait, as well as former Presidents Mr Wong Su Ching and Mr Tan Kim Swee.

According to one of the delegates, Cabinet Treasurer Ms Linda of District 3100 Lions Club of Bangkok Chomthong, "We are very excited about the visit and look forward to meeting members of the royal family."

During their trip, which will conclude on October 28, they will also pay a courtesy call to the Lion Clubs of BSB as well as see tourist attractions like JPCC, Seria oilfields and the Water Village among others. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
