Sultan Meets People At Istana Open House

Bandar Seri Begawan – His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, Sultan of Brunei, Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha and Her Royal Highness Pengiran Isteri Azrinaz Mazhar received members of the public who came to the Istana to convey their Hari Raya greetings to the Monarch and members of the royal household.

A total of 38,512 people visited the Istana today.

His Majesty Sultan of Brunei received greetings from the men well wishers.

With His Majesty were HRH Prince Haji AI-Muhtadee Billah the Crown Prince, HRH Prince Mohamad Bolkiah, HRH Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah, HRH Prince Abdul Malek, HRH Prince Abdul Mateen and other members of the royal household.

The visitors were made up of senior officers and staff of government ministries and departments including those from the Royal Brunei Armed Forces.

Such opportunity to personally greet His Majesty is not to be missed by both local and foreign visitors.

Foreign tourists who are on a holiday in the sultanate took advantage of the open Istana to pay their respect to the Brunei Monarch.

Meanwhile in another part of the palace, Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha and HRH Pengiran Isteri Azrinaz Mazhar received the women visitors.

Present were HRH Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Salleh Ab Rahaman, Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Zariah, Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Bini Hajah Faizah, HRH Hajah Rashidah Saadatul Bolkiah, HRH Princess Hajah Majeedah Nuurul Bolkiah and HRH Princess Hajah Hafizah Sururul Bolkiah.

Also present were HRH Princess Hajah Amal Umi Kalthum AlIslam and Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Noor Ehsani as well as Their Majesties' grand children and other members of the royal household.

Aside from foreign visitors, foreign nationals working in the sultanate came to the palace to personally convey their Hari Raya greetings to Her Majesty Raja Isteri, HRH Pengiran Isteri as well as other members of the royalty.

In the morning alone, 21,730 well wishers visited the Istana Nurul Iman.

The Istana Nurul Iman opened again from 2pm until 4pm.

Hundreds of well wishers came to the palace to convey their greetings to His Majesty Sultan of Brunei, Her Majesty Raja Isteri and HRH Pengiran Isteri as well as other members of the royal household.

His Majesty Sultan of Brunei received the male visitors.

Also present were HRH Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince, HRH Prince Mohammed Bolkiah, HRH Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah, HRH Prince Abdul Malik, HRH Prince Abdul Mateen and other members of the royal household.

An opportunity such as this offers citizens and residents alike to get closer to His Majesty and other members of the royal family.

As in previous years, the visitors were from all walks of life, from different age, race and religion backgrounds.

This is an evidence of the strong bond among the people who live in unity and harmony under the wise leadership of His Majesty.

In another part of the palace, Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha and HRH Pengiran Isteri Azrinaz Mazhar exchanged Hari Raya greetings with the women visitors.

The royal entourage included HRH Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Salleh Abr Rahman, Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Bini Hajah Faerah, HRH Princess Hajah Rashidah Saadatul Bolkiah, HRH Princess Hajah Majeedah Nuurul Bolkiah and HRH Princess Hajah Hafizah Sururul Bolkiah.

Also present was Their Majesties' grand children and other members of the royal household.
