Mosques Prayers Held
Bandar Seri
Begawan – Hari Raya aidil Fitri prayers were also held at
mosques and suraus in the four other districts.
In the Belait District, the focus was
the Mohammad Jamalul Alam Mosque in Kuala Belait.
The congregation comprise of various
races and ethnics in performing the prayer.
Some of them arrived as early as six
in the morning just to get a place inside the mosque.
After performing the prayer, the
congregators embraced each other and asked forgiveness.
The cordial atmosphere reflects
closer ties of brotherhood among Muslims regardless of their
background.
Meanwhile, the Muslim community in
the Tutong District also celebrated the 1st of Syawal by attending the
Sunnat hari raya prayer.
Muslims from the district thronged
the Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque in Pekan Tutong as its focal point.
Hari Raya Aidil Fitri is a time to
come together as a community and to renew friendship and family ties.
This is a time for peace for all
Muslims in the world to devote to prayers and mutual well-being. It is
a joyous occasion with important religious significance.
Happiness is observed as attaining
spiritual uplift after a month of fasting.
For Muslims, Aidil Fitri is a joyful
celebration of the achievement of enhanced piety.
It is a day of forgiveness, moral
victory and peace, of congregation, fellowship, brotherhood and unity.
Muslims are not only celebrating the end of fasting, but thanking
Allah the Al Mighty for the help and strength that they believe he
gave them throughout the previous month to help them practice
self-control.
After attending the special
congregational prayer, worshippers greet and embrace each other in a
spirit of peace, love and brotherhood
In Temburong, Aidil Fitri prayers
were also held at mosques and suraus in the district.
The Mohammad Salleh Utama Mosque in
Bangar Town was the centre of attention where Muslims from various
races came together to recite words of praise to Allah the Al-Mighty
in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidil Fitri.
There were also Muslims seen paying
their tithe as religious hymns filled every corner of the mosques in
the district. --
