Hunt For Raya Goodies In Seria

For last-minute shoppers hunting for kek lapis, raya biscuits, cake
rolls or dodol, head to the ongoing Hari Raya charity bazaar in Seria
District Office. Organised by the Belait Pertiwi Association for the
21st time, part of sale proceeds will go to charity bodies.
One Pertiwi member, Syarifah Pauza
binte Hj Wan Hit, 42, has participated in the bazaar for 11 years and
her homemade kek lapis is one of the best selling Raya cakes in Belait.
She is we!Wnown for winning in cookery and cake baking competitions in
the country.
In past years, her best sellers cakes
include Kek Lapis Oreo, KekAruna (Horlicks flavour) and Kek Jusnita
(Cream Cheese flavour). She is selling her Kek lapis at a standard
size of 9'x 9' at $18 each.
Her sought-after roll cakes are
Sentuhan Kecundang, Sentubong, Tapak Kuda and the chocolate flavoured
'Aruna'. Her Chocolate Hazelnut, Nutella and Cornflakes biscuits are
snapped from the shelves within a day of display at the bazaar. Other
biscuits include Marmar biscuits, pineapple tarts and cerelac.
Baking since she was 16, she also
takes cake orders for Malay weddings and other festivities such as
Chinese New Year, Deepavali and Christmas. She can bake 12 cakes per
