Brothers Suspected Of Theft
By Za'im Zaini
Bandar Seri
Begawan - Two brothers are currently under suspicion for
breaking and entering as well as theft.
The incident occurred last October 19
when CID personnel and Criminal Investigation Case Jerudong Police
District received a report of a breakin at 2245hrs in Kg Peninjau,
Jerudong.
The investigation led by Acting DSO
Jerudong insp Rosli Hj Turning at the scene found traces of footprints
of the suspect outside the window of a first floor of the house and
also a footprint of the suspect inside the room of the victim.
Ag DSO Jerudong Insp Rosh Hj Turning
ordered that a fingerprint and footprint trace to be conducted as well
as measurement and picture of the footprint.
Based on the evidence left by the
suspect, it was found that the traces were only between the house of
the victim and the house next to it through the window of the first
floor, thus the Ag DSO Jerudong ordered that an investigation to be
conducted to the neighbouring house.
During the investigation at the
house, it was found that two locals aged 19 and 20 years were residing
there temporarily with the sister. After looking at the size of the
foot of both the male youths, Ag DSO Jerudong believed that the
footprint that was found at the victim's house belonged to one of the
suspects and they were detained and taken to the Sengkurong Police
Station for further investigation.
The youths after further
investigation admitted to have entered the house and the footprint
found in the home of the victim belonged to the 20-year-old male.
The stolen items including a white
gold necklace and a blue sapphire locket as well as other jewelleries
worth $1,800 were recovered after one of them hid it in the room of
their maid. The brothers are currently released temporarily on police
bail. -- Courtesy of Borneo
