Rented Room Razed By Fire

Bandar Seri Begawan - A fire razed a rented room in Kg Rimba yesterday, just before sungkai.

Informed sources said the couple occupying the premises had lived there for four months. Leading the operations was SFR Ranee Bin Hj Osman, Supt Operation involving 30 fire and rescue personnel including women's unit fire and rescue.

The operation involved 1 five fire engines, two from Beribi Fire Station and three from Berakas Fire Station with support from the District Brunei Police.

The fire was brought under control by fire and rescue personnel within 10 minutes. Initial investigations showed, the fire was a result of an electrical fault, 'e Asst Supt Pengiran Haji Roslan Pengiran Hj Halus Investigation Officer, told the Sunday Bulletin.

Meanwhile the estimated cost of damage could not be made because the owner and the tenants could not be contacted. Police are still investigating. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
