Bandar Seri Begawan - NBT and Lexus Motors Sdn Bhd's decorative arches for the Hari Raya festivities have been lit, adding a touch of glamour to Jalan Gadong, which is a popular route for last-minute shoppers rushing to finalise their purchases and preparations for the season.

As can be seen in the picture, right, the main body of this year's spectacle is dazzling in lustrous green, and has been modelled after a petite mosque, complete with a dome and minarets, crowned by blooming fireworks and surrounded by icons popularly associated with the Muslim festival ketupat, crescent moons, and pelita, traditional Malay oil lamps.

A full-sized bedukhas been included as a finishing touch. Fascinated Bruneians have already been sighted taking pictures of the meticulously designed construction, and these pictures will no doubt be included in their treasured memories of this year's Hari Raya. -- Courtesy of The Brunei Times
