Yayasan Presents Charity To Fire Victims, Poor

Bandar Seri Begawan - One of the objectives of the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Foundation (Yayasan) in the area of welfare towards the community is to provide aid and caring to those who are in need and for those who are involve in a residential fire incident.

'Yesterday, Yayasan along with the Department of Community Building, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports held a donation presentation to fire victims as well to the poor at Yayasan headquarters in Jalan Kumbang Pasang.

At the event, a total sum of $13,800 were presented to 13 families comprise of 50 family members that were involved in a fire incident in Brunei-Muara-and Kuala Belait districts recently. It was hoped that such donation would help lighten their burden.

Meanwhile, a total sum of B$28,225 was also distributed and presented to 14 recipients victim of fire and nature incidents, while others who were in need of house repairs.

The financial aid was presented by the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Pehin-Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dewa Major General (Rtd) Dato Seri PahlawanAwg Hj Mohammad bin Hj Daud, while the donation contributed by the Yayasan was presented by Dato Paduka Hj Ali Hashim bin Hj Daud, Managing Director of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah.

At the same event, the Crown Prince AlMuhtadee Billah Fund for Orphans receive a contribution of B$3,000 from Syarikat Perniagaan Malar Setia.

Presenting the donation was Awg Hj Abdul Rahman bin Metassim, the Managing Director for the company, and was received by Dato Paduka Hj Ali Hashim in his capacity as the Chief Executive Officer of the Crown Prince Fund for Orphans.

Also present at the ceremony were senior government officers and officers ofYayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
