Festival Of Lights With HSBC

Begawan - HSBC recently hosted a Deepavali reception for over
200 of its Indian customers and their families at the Cesar Grand Hall
of Orchid Garden Hotel, Berakas.
Present as the guest of honour was
Charge D'affaires of Indian High Commission in Brunei Mr MP Singh.
Upon his arrival, Mr Singh was
welcomed by HSBC deputy chief executive officerAwang Rosdi Aming
Yaakub.
The guest of honour then lit candles
around the Kolam, which symbolises Deepavali, the Festival of Lights.
Later, Awang Rosdi, in this speech,
said, "The symbolism of the light of knowledge overcoming the darkness
of ignorance encourages us to learn from one another and reminds us
that our differences should be celebrated."
He added, "As the consequences of the
diversity of our customers, we often deal with people who see things
from different perspectives and viewpoints.
"This, in turns, motivates us to try
our best to understand our customers, right down to their cultural and
spiritual beliefs, so we can provide them with specific financial
needs."
Meanwhile, the reception also saw
singing performances by members of the Indian community in the
