Suspects Detained Over Stolen Scrap Metal And Boat Engines

Bandar Seri Begawan - In the past few days, several theft cases have occurred at Syarikat Perusahaan Jalan Mulaut/Kilanas, Department of Electrical Services Batu Bersurat and in the vicinity of Berakas Secondary School.

Among the items reported missing were pieces of scrap metal, four Johnson boat engines and a Nokia mobile phone.

In connection with the theft cases, CID personnel from the Central Police Station in the capital have detained a man and woman believed to be involved in theft cases.

Meanwhile, four theft cases occurred inside a building in Seria, Bangar Town and in the vicinity of the Brunei International Airport.

In these cases, items reported missing were one roll of cable measuring 24 metres, jewellery, a computer, Sony camera, Nokia handphone and several important documents, according to the Royal Brunei Police Force.

These cases, revealed yesterday by the Public Relations Unit of the Royal Brunei Police Force, were reported to police stations throughout the country between October 16 and morning of October 19, 2006. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
