Brunei And Angola Establish Diplomatic Ties

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and the Government of the Republic of Angola have decided to establish diplomatic relations with effect from October 18, 2006.

A press release said, "The signing of the Joint Communique took place at the office of the Permanent Mission of Brunei Darussalam to the United Nations in New York.

"The Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam was represented by Haji Emran bin Bahar, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brunei Darussalam to the United Nations in New York, whilst the Government of the Republic of Angola was represented by Mr Ismael Abraao Gaspar Martins, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Angola" said the press release.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
