Firefighters Receive Raya Drinks

Bandar Seri Begawan - About 200 firefighters from Operation 'B' Belait Branch recently received a carton of drinks each held in conjunction with the upcoming Hari Raya celebrations next week at Seria fire station.

In a speech by Operation `B' Commanding Officer Acting Senior Supt

Abdul Azis bin Hj Mohamad, he urged fire and rescue officials and personnel to continuously cooperate in all aspects so all tasks will be conducted efficiently.

He said to enliven the festivity this year, all officials and firefighters as well as staff from the branch, including non-Muslim staff, will receive a carton of drinks to add to their personal supply in light of the celebration.

Also present during the ceremony was an official from National Disaster Management Centre, Lim Hock Guan, a former commanding officer of the branch.

The contributions are proceeds from. Religious, Welfare and Sports collection which they have invested for the past two years and allocated for the branch.

He hoped the ceremony, held for the first time ever, would reflect attention towards the welfare of the officials, personnel and staff of the branch and will be carried out continuously taking into account capabilities and financial sources. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
