Orphanage Funds Receive Donations

Bandar Seri Begawan - Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sdn Bhd (BSP), Brunei LNG Sdn Bhd (BLNG), Brunei Shell Tankers Sdn Bhd (BST) and Brunei Shell Marketing Company Sdn Bhd (BSM) yesterday presented generous contributions to th, rutong and Belait Orphanage Fund.

The contributions were collected from staff members who participated in the - biennial Shell People Survey 2006. The first donation of $2,330 was made to the Tutong Orphanage Fund which was presented by Hi Mahmud Hj Idris, Head of Service, Transport and Logistics, Brunei Shell Petroleum, and was received by the Tutong District Officer Awg Abdul Mutalib bin Hj Mohd Idris.

Later in the afternoon, a donation of $10,740 was handed over to the Belait Orphanage Fund. On hand to present the donation was the Senior General Manager (Plant) of Brunei LNG Sdn Bhd Hj Matsatejo- Sokiaw.

Meanwhile, a similar donation was also presented to the Belait Orphanage Fund.

This contribution was collected from staff members who chose to donate their BSP Safety Award to selected charity bodies in the country.

The total amount of $14,850 was handed to the Belait District Officer Awg Hj Mohamad bin Hj Abd Rahman.

The BSP Safety Award was a reward to staff from BSP on their commitment towards safety performance when BSP achieved a record non-injury of five million man-hours in 2005.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
