Brunei Family Robbed At Knifepoint
By Rosli Abidin Yahya

Bandar Seri Begawan - Local motorists who plan to visit their friends or relatives across the border this Hari Raya are advised to take extreme caution, as a Brunei driver and his family were recently robbed at knifepoint as they made their way to Bintulu.

The family was on their way to visit their relatives in Bintulu when their saloon vehicle was rammed from behind at around 7pm.

After the family's car was blocked, seven people wearing masks and armed with parangs got out of a vehicle. Among the items that were stolen from the family included jewellery, watches and passports. The thieves also drove, off with the family's vehicle.

The family immediately lodged a police report at the Bintulu Police Station.

"I would like thank the police in Bintulu for helping us during our ordeal. We know the police are doing their best to solve the case," said the head of the family.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
