Dinner Reception For Youth Ship

Begawan - Youths from Japan and ten Asean member countries will
soon set sail for a Southeast Asian journey as part of the 33rd Ship
for Southeast Asian Youth Programme (SSEAYP) 2006.
Brunei Darussalam will be represented
with 28 participants. The Government of Japan has long sponsored this
unique programme.
The Brunei participants, organising
officers of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports as well as
BERSATU Association members were recently invited to a dinner
reception that was hosted by Mr Masashi Kono, Minister-Counsellor who
was representing the Japanese ambassador designate.
The Brunei participants, who are
being led by Ms Hjh Rosmawatiniah bte Penghulu Hj Ibrahim, will board
the ship and leave for Singapore on October 30.
Other participants from Asean
countries and Japan will also be in Singapore. They will later set
sail to five other countries.
The activities in the countries
visited include courtesy calls and interactive programmes.
Participants will spend three days with host families to get a better
understanding of the way of life in other countries.
The last destination will be Tokyo,
Japan where the participants will stay for 10 days.
In Tokyo, they will participate in
more activities and be granted an, audience with the imperial family
