PPNBD Aims To Have 10,000 Scouts

Begawan - "By 2013, our vision is to have 10,000 scout members
and to provide challenging programmes."
This was stated in a briefing on
Rover Scouting during the meet-and-greet session for the Brunei
Darussalam National Scout Association (PPNBD) at Universiti Brunei
Darussalam.
The briefing, which is aimed at
explaining the aim, principles, purpose and concepts of rover scout,
was delivered by by Hj Badar bin Haji Ali, Matassim bin Duraman, Haji
Osman Hj Duraman and Zainuddin bin Hj Ishak.
The president of PPNBD, Pehin Dato
Haji Awang Mohd Ali bin Hj Md Daud in his speech said a lot of leaders
were involved in uniformed groups and he encouraged the students from
UBD to participate more in the uniformed group activities.
In his welcoming remarks, Pg Dr Hj
Mohamed bin Pg Damit, Dean of Student Affairs Universiti Brunei
Darussalam, said, "I was informed that there are intentions to set up
a Rover Scout in UBD.
"More than 30 students from the first
year are interested and today this effort is part of the student
development programme and is the first step towards realising the
intention.
"However, students have to wait first
because it is important to have the infrastructure in order to achieve
