MD Fined For Hiring Immigration Offender

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Bandar Magistrate's Court fined the Managing - Director of Kimpal Jaya Sdn Bhd $3,000 yesterday after he pleaded guilty to employing an immigration offender.

The defendant, Ng Ha, 51, who is also the owner of the company admitted to employing Adi Cipto Surasa, a 37-year-old Indonesian man, who was found to be engaged in employment as labourer with the company.

The immigration offender who received a salary of $450.00 per month was originally under the sponsorship of MJL Electrical as a driver, the court heard.

He was arrested by immigration personnel at the company located in Kampong Kilanas four days ago. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
