By Azlan Othman
Bandar Seri
Begawan - Following the recent voluntary recall made by SunBeam
Foods, Australia which was highlighted by the Ministry of Health last
week, confusion has arisen among the public as to whether some of the
SunBeam products they have purchased could be consumed or otherwise.
Mohamed Anwar Ali, General Manager of
Syarikat Teeyem Majeed which is the importer and supplier of such
products in Brunei, told the Bulletin that SunBeam Mixed Fruit (1kg &
375g), SunBeam Sultana (375g) and SunBeam Currants (300g) are NOT on
the recall list.
"SunBeam Foods and we assure that the
above mentioned products can be consumed with full- confidence. The
recalled products are listed clearly in the statement released last
week by the Ministry of Health's Department of Health Services," Mohd
Anwar Ali said.
The reason for the recall was a
precautionary measure taken due to the presence of metal fragments
found on retail packets.
"The products on the recall list that
are imported to Brunei are Sultana Snack pack (40g), Sultana & Apple
(25g), Sultana & Pineapple (42g), and they have been withdrawn from
the market by us," he said. Syarikat Teeyem Majeed's General Manager
said for any queries, the customer can contact them at 2660395 or
