Dubious Meat And Alcohol Seized
By Za'imZaini
Bandar Seri
Begawan - CID Personnel from the Jerudong Police District have
managed to prevent dubious meat and alcohol from being distributed in
the country.
The police received information from
personnel at the Kampong Bebuloh control post yesterday midnight
regarding a vehicle driven by a man acting suspiciously. He fled the
scene when they attempted to inspect the vehicle.
The vehicle was coming out of the
road between the border of Kampong Bebuloh and Limbang. When stopped
in front of the Kampong Bebuloh control post, the driver made a dash
before an inspection could be conducted. The driver was believed to be
residing in Kampong Bebuloh as the driver and the vehicle were said to
have frequently passed the control post.
Inspection of the residence of the
driver was later conducted by CID personnel of Jerudong Police
District and personnel of the Limau Manis Police Station. The
operation was led by Ag DSO Jerudong Insp Rosli Bin Haji Turning.
The officers found the vehicle parked
behind the house. The vehicle was found to contain a box wrapped in a
black plastic bag placed in the front seat and three bottles of white
wine. The car's boot was empty and it was suspected that the driver
had fled after allegedly smuggling in the unauthorised items. The
vehicle was taken back to Sengkurong police station for investigation.
Inspection of the residence also
found behind the house 11 boxes of dubious frozen meat weighing 20 kg
a box, 90 bottles of white wine or 'Arak Rajang' and 48 bottles of
alcohol Tanduay Rhum dark type.
The driver, however, was not at his
residence but his brother revealed the suspect's name to the police.
