Indonesian Envoy Attends Sungkai In Seria

Bandar Seri Begawan - Indonesian Ambassador Mr Herijanto Soeprapto and his wife, Mdm Rimah Herijanto, recently went to Seria for a Sungai (breaking of fast) with the Indonesian community in the Belait District. Other staff members from the embassy also attended the get-together.

The function was held at the the residence of Mr Marcel Luitens, Tanker's Director of Brunei Shell Petroleum, whose wife is an Indonesian.

The ambassador's visit to Seria was to strengthen ties among the Indonesian community in the Sultanate.

According to the embassy, there are about 3,000 Indonesian employees residing in the Belait District.

The ceremony began with 'Maghrib' prayers followed by `Isyak' and `Terawih', which were led by UstazAbdul Mufti, an Indonesian engineer who works for BSP. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
