M’sian Delegation Calls On
Religious Affairs Minister

Begawan - Minister of Religious Affairs, Pehin Dato Dr Hj Mohd
Zain bin Hj Serudin, yesterday morning received a courtesy call from a
five-member Malaysian delegation.
The delegation was led by Dato' Dr
Abdullah bin Md Zin, a Minister at the Malaysian Prime Minister's
Office.
The delegates included Datuk Ali bin
Abdullah, Malaysian High Commissioner in Brunei Darussalam and Dato'
Mustafa bin Abdul Rahman, Director General of the Malaysian Department
of Islamic Development.
During the visit, Dato' Dr Abdullah
presented an invitation to Pehin Dato Dr Hj Mohd Zain to attend
MABIMS's unofficial religious ministers meeting to be hosted by
Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur on November 30.
MABIMS
comprises Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, Republic of Indonesia and
Singapore.
Also present at the courtesy call
yesterday were Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs, Pehin Dato Ustaz
Hj Awg Badaruddin; Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Religious
Affairs, Dato Hj Abdul Rahman; and Deputy Permanent Secretary of the
ministry, Dato Hj Ishaaq, as well as the senior officers at the
ministry.
The Malaysian delegates also attended
a briefing on the roles, objectives and activities of the Ministry of
Religious Affairs of Brunei. The briefing was given by Awg Hj Abu
Bakar, Senior Education Officer at the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
Later in the evening, the Malaysian
delegates performed the breaking of the fast and Solat Fardhu Maghrib
at the residence of the Minister of Religious Affairs in Beribi.
After breaking of the fast, they
proceeded to Jame' 'Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque to perform Isya'
prayer and Solat Sunat Tarawih and Sunat Witir with local residents.
The Malaysian delegates are scheduled
