Public Service Department Hands Over $1,000

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Director-General of Public Service Dato Paduka Hj Saifon bin Hj Awg Besar, on behalf of the Public Service Department, recently handed over a donation of $1,000 to the Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office Awg Hj Ahmad bin Hj Rahman.

Also present at the ceremony were the Deputy DirectorGeneral of Public Service Hj Muhammad Taib bin DH Hj Abdul Wahab, directors and senior officers of the department as well as executive committee members of the centre.

The donation was raised during a sponsored walkathon event held on May 14 at Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium, as well as personal contributions from officers and staff from Public Service Department.

The walkathon event was organised by BERKESAN body of the department responsible for social and sports affairs. The event saw participants walking along with the Director-General of Public Service who led the fivekilometre walk for men and his spouse launching the threekilometre for women. The sponsored walkathon was held to raise money for suture events within the department as well as for contributions to charities such as Pusat Ehsan in Bengkurong for special people.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
